Just Vibes
I spoke with my dad today and in our convo I said, "...So it’s just vibes,” he had no clue what I was talking about, but once I explained it in terms of “Going with the flow,” he understood. Well that’s how I’ve been living life lately especially when I safely travel. Of course you always want to make sure you take care of home, but with this "corralace" and these shut downs, you really need to make sure you have “just vibes” moments on deck too.
So, as I’ve been on hiatus (kinda) still writing but just not out loud, I’ve been taking this time in quarantine, (Santa Clara County has been like “nah stay inside")....I’ve been trying to find my “Just Vibes” moments. Even when at home, quarantine has made me realize how important self care is and also the importance of commitment. Before the "corralace," we were literally just running on fumes, nothing to it in reality but we were just going. Quarantine has made us realize who our friends are, our likes and dislikes, and even reflect on past experiences and what lessons really came of those. In quarantine, I completed my Masters even when I wanted to quit in the last quarter, I reevaluated my relationships whether friendly or intimate, and I also reevaluated who I was to myself and to others.
Luckily, I was able to spend time in therapy which was unexpected but worth it. Not only was I able to set hard boundaries but I was able to face situations whether familial, relational, or other with no regrets and move different. Through all of this, those “Just Vibes” are sometimes what puts a smile on your face, what gets you through the night, what makes you feel your best self even on your worst days. As we still continue to quarantine and recognize who we are as we are becoming in this new decade, remember that self care is the best care. If it doesn’t feel right in your spirit or your gut, it’s okay to leave it and seek higher.
Be your best self, live your best life, create, and thrive even if you somewhat have to start over. Be you, feel you, and do great. The only person holding you back is you. Remember that no matter what is going on, you are your only competition. Do what feels best and live your best life! Make some fly times and do you.
