“Sistas How Y'all Feel? Brothas, Y’all Alright?”
*Quarantine Update*
Title Inspiration from the words of Ms. Erykah Badu
So how has quarantine been? Whew! 2020 has been some type of year already. Has it actually been 525,600 minutes? It feels like it. Cancellations and Postponed events, stay at home orders, funds low, funds saved, anxiety galore, virtual everything. And what day is it? Lots of emotions all at once.
Now, out of all the 2020 vision seekers and sayers, who knew about this? We gotta talk…
The beginning of 2020, I was living. I was calm. I was planning, I was secure. My outside life lasted for about a good two months. I got through crazy days, I had some good cheers, I worked my tail off, and I made ends meet. I started networking more and sought growth in my new journey. I even had to do a check in with God like, “What do you have to say about this?” He was definitely opening doors like crazy for me, and I was for sure grateful.
The time spent in prayer and fasting during 2019 prepared me for these quarantine times unbeknownst to us.
Can these dry bones live (Ezekiel 37)? That is the scripture illustration constantly in my thoughts. If you are quarantining correctly (stay home please, like really) then you’ll be able to say YES! Even in this valley of dry bones, life can still happen. There are skills to brush up on, bonds to form, cleaning to do, work to get done, people to help, peace to receive, talents to discover, creativity to thrive, reflections to ponder on, and rest to enjoy.
Even though no one knows what will happen after quarantine is over, take this time to work on you, as in your whole self.
Pray constantly. Expect the great even if 2020 continues to be a downer. There is victory after this. Take care of your health, focus on your wealth, virtually reconnect, take the time to feel. It’s okay to cry, just make sure to get up, self-hug, and reevaluate what you want to accomplish through this time of safety, lessons, and learning.
I still say 2020 Expect the Great, why? Because there is still hope, a future, a purpose, a promise, and an expected end after this.
Live and Speak Life!
Stay Safe and Be Well!
